Our Amazing Volunteers – and a Call for Help

What an amazing bunch of volunteers we have — we want to thank each and every one of them for their hard work, dedication, and resilience.

Since the flooding caused by the leaky roof, our team has been tirelessly clearing away debris from the collapsed ceiling, sorting stock, and removing water from the soaked carpets. Their efforts have been nothing short of heroic.

Unfortunately, we had more water come through the roof into the top-floor kitchen last night, and while some also seeped through to the first floor, our preparation meant the impact was less severe this time. The cats, however, remain unimpressed by the disruption!

We’re hopeful that, barring more heavy rain, we can reopen the shop tomorrow. But we have a long road ahead. The roof above the top-floor kitchen will need to be replaced entirely — a major building project — and the affected ceilings will need repairs.

We’ve already lost three days’ worth of shop takings, plus some stock. Yet our vet bills and cat care costs continue.

To help us recover, one of our wonderful volunteers has set up a GoFundMe page. If you can spare even a couple of pounds, it would mean the world to us and the animals we care for.

Thank you for your ongoing support — we simply couldn’t do this without you.
