A Devastating Setback After a Brilliant Start

After a fantastic beginning to the week with our successful £1 sale, we are heartbroken to share that our charity shop has suffered significant water damage due to last night’s heavy rainfall.

The rain poured through the kitchen ceiling of the top flat, then seeped down to the first floor, continuing all the way down the staircase and through the front window onto the shop floor. The result? Mushy ceiling tiles, soaked carpets, and a large quantity of stock now water-damaged and likely unsalvageable due to contamination risks.

We are currently assessing the full extent of the damage and trying to salvage anything we can — but unfortunately, many items will need to be disposed of.

As a result, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close the shop until further notice. With more heavy rain forecast over the coming days, we simply cannot predict what further issues may arise.

This is a devastating blow for us, as the shop is our main source of income to support our rescue work. We’ll continue to keep you updated and truly appreciate the support of our community during this time.
