This is Roo. She’s around 7 years old and recently came over from Crete, where she had lived as part of a beach colony. She was all set for a new life in a loving home – but sadly, that home fell through at the last minute. Poor Roo.

Thankfully, we were able to take her in, and she’s been with us for a few weeks now. But despite being gentle, affectionate and ready for her forever home, we’ve not had a single enquiry. Poor Roo.

But Roo is also lucky. We’ve just received devastating news: the beach colony she came from has been deliberately poisoned. Many cats are confirmed dead, and many more are missing. At this point, we only know of three survivors.

This is heartbreaking. These were neutered, cared-for cats – all innocent lives lost. Our thoughts are with everyone who worked so hard to protect them. And as for the person responsible – is there such a thing as karma? We hope so.

Right now, Roo is safe. But what she really needs is a home of her own. She’s sweet, loving, and well-socialised. If you’re looking to adopt, please consider giving Roo the fresh start she so deserves.
