Say Hello to Dotty – Young Rescued Mum Looking for a Home

Meet Dotty, our sweet young mum who’s travelled all the way from Manchester to Paignton in search of a better life.

We responded to an appeal from a Manchester rescue overwhelmed by a large semi-feral colony living rough around abandoned garages. Although the cats were being fed, the charity lacked funds for neutering and had no foster space. We stepped in to help, taking in Dotty (named for the single black spot on her back) and three of her kittens.

Her journey was long, supported by a dedicated team of Animal Transport drivers, and she has settled in beautifully. Dotty is estimated to be just over a year old and may already have had more than one litter. She has now been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and is ready to find a loving forever home.

She can be a little shy at first, but once she knows who’s filling her food bowl, she’ll soon become your best friend. Dotty is very gentle and affectionate, with a calm and loving nature.

She’s met some of the other cats in care but has tended to chase them off, likely to protect her kittens. While she may prefer to be an only cat, she has formed a close bond with one of her female kittens – they eat from the same bowl and cuddle up together – so re-homing them as a pair would be a lovely outcome, though not essential.

Her kittens are now growing fast, soon to be neutered and available for adoption too.
