Donations – What We Can (and Can’t) Accept Right Now

We are genuinely grateful for the majority of donations we receive — most are clean, well presented, and perfectly suitable for resale in the shop. These generous contributions help keep Feline Network running and support our rescue work.

However… we do occasionally receive items that leave us completely baffled.

Take the donation we unpacked recently: a 10-year-out-of-date condom, for starters. And sadly, these types of items are more common than you might think.

It’s worth remembering that our volunteers — many of whom give up their time freely — are the ones handling donations. Please imagine what it’s like for them when they come across things like:

  • A gun

  • An axe

  • Edible underwear

  • A headless doll

  • Live slugs

  • A frying pan (complete with mouldy meal and lid)

  • A gnome with a knife stuck in it

  • A gimp mask and cat o’ nine tails

  • A pair of trousers with the panty liner still attached

We wish we were joking.

Temporarily Not Accepting:

Due to ongoing roof repairs and space limitations, we are not able to accept any:

  • Kitchenware

  • Bric-a-brac

  • Glassware

  • Ornaments

This pause will continue until June, when the leaky roof is scheduled to be repaired.

Please, if you wouldn’t buy it yourself or gift it to a friend, think twice before donating it to the shop.

If you’re ever unsure whether something is suitable, you’re always welcome to message us or call ahead.

Thank you so much for your continued support — and for helping us make our volunteers’ lives a little easier!
