Happy International Cat Day!

Today is International Cat Day a special day created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to celebrate the world’s feline friends, raise awareness about cat welfare, and encourage responsible pet ownership.

To mark the occasion, here are a few simple ways you can show your cat some love and support the wider cat community:

Give your cat some extra love and cuddles

(Though let’s be honest, we hope you do this every day!)

Check your cat’s wellbeing

Make sure they have access to good food, stimulating toys, and plenty of cosy sleeping spots. Take a moment to assess their health – is there anything bothering you that needs a vet check?

Check your cat’s microchip

Ensure their microchip details are registered and up to date. If your cat isn’t microchipped, please get this booked today – it’s now a legal requirement in the UK.

Book that neuter appointment

If your cat isn’t neutered or spayed, please arrange it as soon as possible. It helps control the population and protects their health.

Make a donation

Support the work of an animal charity today. If you’d like to help us, just click the ‘Donate’ button at the top of the page – every penny helps us care for more cats in need.

Volunteer with us

We’re always looking for new volunteers – whether it’s in the shop or helping behind the scenes. If you have a bit of spare time and would like to get involved, please get in touch.

Finally, we’d love to see photos of your gorgeous feline companions – share them with us on social media and help us spread the cat love today!
